Watch Me Lauren Barnholdt Books
When I first got this book I had no idea it was a reality TV type thing,& to be honest I probably would not have gotten it. But after giving it a few chapters I realized I was hooked, and as with all of Lauren Barnholdt's books, it was a really quick read. I really liked it, and would definitely reccomend it!

Watch Me Lauren Barnholdt Books Reviews
Story Ally is about to start college soon, and she finds that one the most popular shows, In the House, is going to be shooting a season at the college she is going to attend. Because of this, she decides to audition. After her audition, Ally doesn't think that she did well enough to make it on the show... she was wrong. She made it and she is really excited.
When she starts college, she meets all the other people in her house. There are four others-Simone, Drew, James, and Jasmine.
While going through all of this, her long-time boyfriend, Corey, is at another college in Florida. They barely see each other and don't talk much. One day while looking online, Ally sees a comment saying that Corey likes someone else. This really frustrates her. While the story goes on, Ally keeps seeing more and more of Drew, and less of Corey.
Everything really comes out once Corey comes to visit Ally over break.
Characters Ally was my favorite character. I felt like she was the only normal-ish one. She was having boy troubles and she didn't know what to do.
Corey annoyed me a little. I felt like he did like someone else, he just didn't want to tell Ally. Plus, since hanging out in Florida, he started acting WAY different.
Drew was nice. He was a great best friend to Ally. If Ally seemed mad or angry, he knew to give her space. He also knew when she needed help and he was always there for her, even whey Corey wasn't. He also helped Ally with her photography class.
Jasmine seemed to be way different than she really was. It's like she put on a show for others, but deep down, she was really sweet and had the potential to be an amazing best friend.
Simone was okay. She fell hard for James, only to find that he was a player all along. We never saw much of James throughout the story, but when he was there, he really bothered me.
All in All I thought that this was a great book. I loved how it was pretty much a T.V. show in book form. I also liked how it kind of sends the message that everything you see on T.V. isn't always true. I would suggest it if you are looking for a light contemporary read for summer. I'm definitely going to try to get Lauren Barnholdt's other novels.
Whenever I pick up a Lauren Barnholdt book, it is always a shot in the dark for me. I love some of them, while others are just awful. Maybe it is because I am out of her “demographic?" To be honest I am not loving a lot of YA these days. I was at the library which is in the middle of the country and surprised to see anything by her in an audiobook form. I thought since I was listening to it on audio, how bad could it be? Boy, was I wrong.
To start this book is about a girl named Ally Cavanaugh who is going into her freshman year of college who gets cast to be on a reality TV show called In the House. It's like the college version of Real World except episodes aired every single day and showed events that happened just a couple days prior.
This brings me to the first problem, the characters are so stereotypical, and cliche. There is the gangster boy, the womanizer frat boy, the innocent church girl, the girl how is so slutty she almost became a stripper (really trying to sell it I guess.) This annoyed me because had there been actually interesting characters I might have liked it better.
The second issue is that this has predictable story line. The girl graduates goes to college and her boyfriend (in this books case corey) is going to a different school, but we will stay strong. Even though the main character is doing everything she can to mess it up.
The main character Ally, is so annoying it makes the book a bit annoying. She was overly sensitive and almost completely sheltered girl one minute then an annoying rude girl the next. She second guessed everything and made horrible choices, but never could be self aware enough to actually realize she made these problems worse.
The last issue is about the audio book. Oh my goodness. The narrator Cassandra Morris unfortunately had a very annoying voice. Maybe because she was trying to make it a “cutesy” summer read, but I almost stopped because it was that bad.
Overall it just was a flop for me, I am sure that 15 year old me would have loved it, well maybe!
It was really slow at the beginning but it picks up just at the right time. It's jumps back and forth which confusing but you get used to it.
